This week's Autocar runs
one of the ultimate tests - the top speeds on some of the worlds most renowned
sports cars.
The article features the
Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari 599GTB, Mercedes SLR
McLaren, Porsche 911 Turbo, Aston Marton Vanquish S, Dodge Vipe, Ford GT
and the Corvette ZO6 as they go head to head to crown the ultimate speed
king of the road.
Each car takes part in a series of 0 - top speed tests pitting the cars
head to head and while I'll not spoil the outcome, the ZO6 fairs very well
and to quote one section.
"The big mover as speed built was the Corvette ZO6. The cheapest car
here punched well above its weight, surpassing the more highly rated Ford
GT and Porsche 911 Turbo on the way to a 124mph split of 11.9
seconds"
